What we collect
You can use this site without giving us any personal data. There are no accounts, no newsletters and no advertising cookies. We only receive personal data when you send one of the forms described below, and analytics cookies are only set if you agree to them.
Cookies and analytics
Essential cookies and browser storage keep the map and your settings working. They can't be switched off, because the site doesn't work properly without them.
Optional analytics cookies, which count visits and show which pages people use, are set only if you choose “Accept all” in the cookie banner. If you choose “Essential only”, or until you choose, no analytics cookies are set. At the moment the site doesn't use any analytics, so no analytics cookies are set whatever you choose; we'll name the provider, its cookies and how long they last here before that changes. Legal basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and section 99 of Cyprus law 112(I)/2004).

Stored in your browser only
Your saved venues and vendors, the document checklists you tick and your cookie choice are kept in your browser's local storage (keys such as cwm_saved and cwm_consent). They're never sent to us, and they're deleted when you clear your browser data.
Forms you send us
Quote requests: when you ask a venue or vendor for a quote, we receive your names, email address, wedding date, guest count, budget and message, and pass them to the business you chose so it can reply to you. That business then handles your data under its own privacy policy.
Listing and claim requests: when you list or claim a business, we receive the business details and photos you send, the email address for quote requests, the way you'd like to be verified, and your name and email. We use them to check that you run the business and to publish its page. The business details and photos are published once approved; your own name and email aren't.
Corrections: when you suggest a correction, we receive what you tell us and, if you give it, your email address, which we use only to ask about the correction.
Contact form: when you write to us, we receive your name, email address, topic and message, and use them to reply.
These forms are received by us, the operator named above; quote requests also go to the business you chose. Legal basis: taking the steps you asked for (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in keeping the listings accurate and spam off the site (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). The forms are received and stored for us by Netlify Forms (see Hosting). How long we keep them: spam is deleted at once; quote requests, corrections and messages are deleted 12 months after we've dealt with them; for listing and claim requests, the business details and photos stay on the business's page while it's listed, and your own name and email are deleted 12 months after the listing is removed or the request is turned down.
Google Maps
The maps on this site are provided by Google Ireland Limited (Google Maps JavaScript API). When a map loads, its map tiles and scripts load from Google's servers, which receive your IP address and may set cookies. Google may transfer data to the United States under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. See Google’s privacy policy.
Google Fonts
The site's fonts are loaded from Google's servers, which receive your IP address.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Netlify, Inc. (San Francisco, USA), which also stores the forms you send us. When you visit, Netlify processes technical data such as your IP address, browser and the time of the request to deliver the pages and protect the service. This is necessary to run the website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Netlify may process data in the United States; it's certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, and its data processing agreement includes the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

Links to venues, vendors and public bodies lead to other websites with their own privacy policies.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct and delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. To use them, email us at hello@cyprusweddingmap.com. You can also complain to the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection in Cyprus (dataprotection.gov.cy).
